Arrigo Sacchi

From the serene dimension of the province of Ravenna to the article of the Times magazine.

The improvement is unimaginable, but not impossible, so much that the English newspaper named him the best Italian coach of all time and 11th in the world.

In 2011 he joined the Hall of Fame of Italian football and the recognition is well deserved because as coach of the Milan team, a team that he coached from 1987 to 1991, before returning for a short experience in the 96/97 season, he won: a Scudetto, an Italian Super Cup, two Champions Cups, two European Super Cups and two Intercontinental Cups. And here ends, in summary, the career of a coach during his first experience with the Milan team. But Sacchi, who also led the national team, was a capable winner for football or a total innovator, a master able to revolutionize the football logic of the time? Its rule, or rather his philosophy, has been such to give an imprint that has brought the Italian school to levels of absolute excellence. The term, often used in his case, is therefore the right identification of a sum of behaviours, ideas, dynamic conceptions and knowledge of men that have marked not only a time, and in the present that is chronicle, a deep sad regret.

To the master who was able to create the “Immortali” - as the Milan team was called, one of the best club teams of all time according to UEFA - go our thanks for what he has represented not only professionally but as an image of the man of sport.

Thank you, Arrigo.
